Hello and welcome to my website. I hope you enjoy my photography. Some of my work may also be seen in The 2010 Portfolio Gallery of Black and White magazine. I come from a painting background in my artwork and often as I am editing a photo I feel like I'm working on a canvas with my brushes so therefore you may notice a painterly texture in a good deal my images. Digital photography has now become for me an extension of that painting process in my work. As a photographer and painter I believe strongly (no matter the medium) in the old adage by Will Rogers - "If a man ain't nuthin' else then he's an artist, its the only thing he can claim to be, that nobody can prove he ain't." Thank you, sincerely. Ken Oakes

My work is available from the web host in a number of sizes, prices and type of printing papers, mats and framing. Please log on to your desired category below, select your photo and place your order. Also please know that you may order (thru my email address,) metal prints of any of my photos (color or black and white) in sizes ranging from 16x20 inches to 40x60 inches. Metal prints are my images (also in color or black and white) printed on specially coated sheets of aluminum in which the inks are infused into the metal rather than on the surface resulting in "brilliant, almost luminescent photos" to quote the printer. The prints arrive frameless and ready to hang. They are waterproof, scratch resistant and may be cleaned with any commercial glass cleaner. Please email me for prices and purchasing. Thank you.

Hi Dad, I love looking at the beauty you capture with your camera. God has blessed you with a talent that not many people have, the ability to see beauty all around you. Thank you so much for sharing your art with us.

Dear Ken,
Your work has added wonder to my day. I found a card from you while going though some old papers and it inspired me to find your work. What a thrill! Your taste is flawless, elegant, kaleidoscopic and lovely. It makes me think that, if we could all see the world through eyes like yours, everything would be respected and gratitude would be the essence of our attitude.
And, that makes me grateful that you had the bravery to submerge in making your art available to the public.
BRAVO!!!
My heart lifts to greet you.

Hi Ken: I recently came across a photo you took from the 1960's. It's the neon signs on Granville Street ,downtown with the Vogue theatre in it. At the forefront of the photo is a neon sign with a triangle with a 4 on it, and the beginning of some wording. The business that sign belonged to was my father's dry cleaning store, it was 4 hour pressing and cleaning. I'm a painter and I was wondering if you would allow me to paint from that photograph. You can view my blog site at sylviaohrn.com to see my paintings, and see if you wouldn't mind having your photo associated with my painting. Thanks very much,
Sylvia
